About Me

My photo
Hi! I'm MLS and this is my blog. Grown-ups get to do everything cool while expecting us babies to lay around and drool. Babies unite! Join me in a revolution in which babies are heard! We have much to say if anyone bothered to listen. This is my way of getting my thoughts out there and maybe, just maybe, giving insight into the secret thoughts of babies everywhere!

Trendy Just Got Trendier

I've been informed that I need glasses.   At first I wasn't thrilled....

But then Mama explained that any boy that can pull off this look......

Or this one....

can of course pull off the "too-cool-for-school-cause-I've-skipped-all-the-way-to-my-PhD-program-can't-mess-with-this-uber-stylish-and-chic" glasses look too.  I mean it was bound to happen; all the lookers wear glasses - Pitt, Gosling, Bieber, Depp.  I'm just one of the guys.  Ladies, I apologize in advance for making you swoon even more than usual. ;)

This Little Piggy...

This little piggy had ice cream.

                                                                                This little piggy had none.

This little piggy had cheese bread.
This little piggy had corn.

And this little piggy laughed, "Ha, ha, ha" all the way to the grocery store with Mama, so she could re-stock the dwindling pantry that was so ravaged by my insatiable appetite.

Docta' in the Hoooooooouse!

In honor of my Dada's astounding performance on his USMLE Step 2 exam, I thought I'd dub today "Way-Back Wednesday" with some pics of days gone by...
My first "selfie"
What do you mean why am I writing about me when today is dad's special day?!  Because without me he'd be nothin'!  He wouldn't even have gotten through year one without my constant encouragement and comfort, let alone years two and three!  I am the reason for that score, ladies and gentlemen.  But I don't begrudge him some credit.  After all, he did have to drive there and sit for eight hours to take the test....

But for realsies Pops, you did a great job, and I'm proud to be your son.  Stop dad.  Don't cry.  Come on man I can't see you like this.  Ok I'm going to bed; cry on JD's shoulder.

Double the Fun!

So sorry I've left you out of the loop lately; I was very busy entertaining some guests that stayed with us for three days.  My new friend and I are almost exactly the same age, and his little brother was only 4 months older than JD.  Twice the fun!
"And twice the diaper changes and potty trips..."
Twice the hugs and kisses!
"And twice the mess..."
Twice the shopping buddies!
"And twice the number of little boys to keep up with in the store..."
Twice the adorable factor!
"Yes, and twice the..."
MAMA!  Now that's enough.  Why if you're going to be negative about this whole thing, I just won't let you contribute to my page anymore.  I won't even let you read it!  Honestly, it's not enough to be the handsome one, I have to be the positive, level-headed one too.  Sheesh!  And to think I let you dress the four of us alike every day.
"Ahem, I was GOING to say, twice the blessing thank you very much!  We were like the mini-Duggars.  It was awesome!  In fact MLS, this experience has shown me that God really will strengthen me to have four, five, six, seven, etc. kids.  So you'll probably have to share you room with at least one, if not two siblings.  And then of course you're first car will be a minivan which you'll only drive to help me shuttle your siblings around, and don't forget...."
Whoa, whoa, ok Mom.  Let's not go crazy here....how about we just let lots of kids visit, and you don't have anymore until I go to college ok?  Great, good plan. Glad you agree.  Right Mom?  Mom? .....  Mommy?  MAMA!  Get back in here!  Put that child down, he's not ours.  Look you're scaring everyone on the playground.  Mother!

Because It's Funny

Before:

After:

Cause that's how I roll.  A drumstick that is.  It's a "drum-roll".  Get it?  Cause it's a chicken drumstick and I rolled it as I ate?  See that's called a play on words, and it's funny, and -
"Wait.  Stop right there little bro.  If you tell them that it's supposed to be funny, then it's no longer funny...get it?"
Um...no, not really.  If it's funny, then it doesn't really matter whether I tell them it is or not, because it will still be funny.  Right?
"Well, no.  Because see....it's like.....the thing is....oh forget it.  Yes JD.  It's funny."

Cow Craze

Bet you don't recognize these guys.

Wait!  Don't go!  You have the right blog.  See?  It's only me.  But I'm guessing you knew JD right off...I told him he needed the black nose to be more convincing.  It was Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-Fil-A today!  So I packed up the fam and took them over there.  Met my buddy and his sidekick there as well.  It would have been a great meal, were it not for the fact that I couldn't even eat with my friend, because he had to be removed from the restaurant for disorderly conduct.  See, there were these two cows there working the crowd, and he was just so appalled that they were forcing these poor creatures to work in captivity that he spoke up demanding freedom for them.  His pleas fell on deaf ears, however.  Better luck next time, buddy.  Ok now I have to go back incognito for an undercover assignment.  I want to ask around in the field to see if the brown cows really do make chocolate milk.

"Matchmaker, Matchmaker, DON'T Make Me a Match!"

So ma's been on this matching kick lately - "Look MLS, you and JD can wear matching suits, and matching socks, and matching pajamas, and matching pale yellow outfits, and matching sleeveless nautical short-all onesies!"  Greaaaaaat....just what I always wanted.
Let me rephrase that, because yes, I have always wanted a mini-me.  However I would prefer he at least be dressed differently.  I kind of always pictured JD as a mini-me in terms of attitude and sense of style.  Not this copy-catting nonsense.  *sigh*
Now regarding pops....I mean this is just taking it too far.  Dressing JD and I alike, ok yeah sure, I get that it's adorable.  But the "dad and lad" look.  No ma.  No.

Table for Four

Took the fam out for a nice meal.  I think they enjoyed it.  I was actually able to get Mama to dress up, which is no easy feat!

JD and I, on the other hand, are basically pros at looking good.  We were the best dressed in the whole restaurant.  This was a gourmet place, so I had the goldfish appetizer, followed by an entree of turkey sandwich meat, whimsically rolled up, finished with a flourless chocolate cake and coffee.  A delightful evening all in all.  Though brother and I have decided that next time, we might take some more....ahem....refined company.  No offense Mom and Dad....
