About Me
- MLS
- Hi! I'm MLS and this is my blog. Grown-ups get to do everything cool while expecting us babies to lay around and drool. Babies unite! Join me in a revolution in which babies are heard! We have much to say if anyone bothered to listen. This is my way of getting my thoughts out there and maybe, just maybe, giving insight into the secret thoughts of babies everywhere!

JD's Debut
Since I've recently awakened, I've been catching up on big brother's blog. It seems he has let everyone believe that all I do is sleep. That is simply not true. Yes, sleep composes a great deal of my day, but do you know how people talk to me? You'd sleep too if you had such mindless conversationalists around you all day long! The most interesting thing I heard all day today was, "You're a cute baby! You're such a cute baby! Yes you are! Yes!" (in a very high-pitched voice nonetheless). Come on woman, I think we established I was a cute baby on day one. Let's move on now. For this reason, I sleep.
I do however have some waketime, during which I have so far discovered what "bling" is, and that Dada has a rather corny sense of humor. MLS says it's important to laugh or at least smile anyway - it makes Dada feel cool, like us. What a strange place I've come to. A very strange place.

"Budding" Artist
As a part of my current genre of clothing choice, I feel it is only right to explore my artistic side. I've set up a studio in the living room; mom was a gem about that. Very understanding. I'm excellent at flowers. Flowers are my thing. You want a Daisy? Green and yellow crayon. Boom. It's a daisy. You like daffodils? Green and yellow crayon. Shazam. A daffodil. Perhaps a coreopsis is more you? Green and yellow crayon. Done. I should really market these things. I could be like that "I want to draw a cat for you" guy on Shark Tank. (Seriously look him up....this dude has a whole website just for cat drawings.)

"Pick-up" Lines
Like my new shirt? It seems to be popular with the ladies. Only problem is, it works a little too well. Today in TJ Maxx, Mommy had to fight away two college girls, another mom, and a little old lady in a giant hat (who was obviously a taekwondo expert judging by the way she handled that walking stick). I mean geez ladies, at least ask my Mom's permission first. You can't just go around grabbing random adorable kids, what's wrong with women today?!
And how about my new hair? Dada cut it yesterday when he was home playing Mr.Mom, so now I can finally spike it again. Look out Sonic (the hedgehog, not the restaurant...), you ain't got nothin' on me!

Quarantine
Ok, scanning the perimeter. All possible exits secured. There's no way Mommy's gettin out of here!
Hello all, I've been having to act as warden and nurse to Mommy for the past few days until she recovers from her strep throat. And even though she's been wearing a mask to protect lil' bro and myself, I'm not taking any chances. I tried putting one on JD, but it was bigger than his whole head, and I figured the odds of him getting strep were smaller than the odds of him smothering in that mask, so I nixed it. Now if you'll excuse me, I hear the "clack-clacking" of a keyboard coming from Mommy's room, which can only mean one of two things - either Mommy's up way past her illness approved bedtime typing up her latest stroke of assumed genius, or JD is updating his profile on Babybook. I'm going with the former.

T-Rex-A-Rona-SauraMusess
RAAAAAAAWR! This is a lovely T-Rex specimen I helped put together when I was down south visiting Poppy and Nanna. Yeah....the museum was quite grateful. They were trying to put him together using the old "the shin-bone's connected to tha...foot bone" method. I brought along my Grey's Anatomy (of dinosaurs) to help speed things along. Then Poppy and I rode on a train, I did a little grocery shopping, and we all smashed our faces into this awesome wall of spiky things. My face looks good even when you can't see my beautiful baby blues. It's a crime really. Ssssssomebody stop me!

Newborn Pics, Part II
Ta-Da! And here is the other half of JD's pictures. I like the one under this monkey picture. Another tip I had given him was to think in his head the message he wants to get across, and that will help him model it. He said in that one in particular he was thinking (in the voice of Fabio), "Jes, I noh I am cute". Yes bro, cute you are. Ruggedly handsome like me? You'll get there. Give it time.

Newborn Pics, The Sequel
At last! My photographer finished little bro's pictures. Here are the first half. He's cute and all; I mean these pictures look like you'd expect baby pictures to look, but he's no MLS. But never fear. In time I'm quite certain I can transform him into an amazing model, much like myself (but not exactly...got to keep some tricks to myself. After all, wouldn't want to be upstaged. Like that could happen....) I believe the black and white of him staring slightly off-center of the camera is my favorite. He actually employed at least a little bit of what I tried to teach him before the shoot - "Remember JD, you are a hopeless romantic. You gaze into the distance, not blankly, but with hope and longing, dreaming of the love you've yet to find. Yes, I know you love mommy. No please don't cry! I'm sure she loves you too, I just meant, oh never mind. Mom! The baby's crying!" Not my best tutoring session....

Surprise!!!
I know you've all been wondering what could possibly have happened to keep me away from you for so long, and you probably figured it was my internet again. Nope. I randomly decided to go surprise Poppy for his 60th birthday!! He had no clue; I only told Nanna I was coming. He was so shocked and excited to see me (not that that's any surprise, who wouldn't be excited to see me?). Tomorrow I'm treating him to a trip to the Science Museum; they have a model train exhibit this month! 'Nuf said.
It was a good thing I came when I did too, because we needed each other's mutual support after our very sad loss Monday night. Honestly, I don't understand what happened. They just gave up! They were playing spectacularly, and they just gave up the win!! I know I know, "Don't be so down MLS, they still won the Iron Bowl, that's all that matters." and "Oh MLS, you guys won the conference, isn't that enough for you?" No, no it is not. I demand excellence of anyone and anything I take my precious time to support. I'm going to have a long talk with Gus about this.

ONE MORE MONTH!
It's almost here! The big 0-2!!!!!! In one more month I will officially enter the wonderful two's. Supposedly there is a phenomenon that occurs when you hit 2 called the "terrible two's". Experts claim that upon reaching this age, children are going through a period of self-discovery and enlightenment, during which they begin to express themselves as an individual, and become very independent and selfish. This is a myth people! The truth is, we put up with your patronizing ways for as long as we can, and at two we just crack! Can't take anymore! We've always been smarter than and more capable than you, we just hide it to spare your feelings. I however will attempt to keep my own frustrations in check as I reach this pinnacle in my life. I shall be more sympathetic towards my loving parents, especially considering the fragile emotional state of my poor mother who has just given birth. (You know how those postpartum women are....)
