About Me
- MLS
- Hi! I'm MLS and this is my blog. Grown-ups get to do everything cool while expecting us babies to lay around and drool. Babies unite! Join me in a revolution in which babies are heard! We have much to say if anyone bothered to listen. This is my way of getting my thoughts out there and maybe, just maybe, giving insight into the secret thoughts of babies everywhere!

Bouncing Birthday Bash
I went on a little Saturday jaunt this past weekend. Down to Gramma's house for her *mmmmphfhffhf* birthday. Decided I'd treat her right....took her to Red Lobster for dinner, gave her the glorious gift of my presence, and best of all, spent a while in a room full of trampolines. No seriously that's all it was. That's a lie...they had a foam pit too with a tightrope to walk and a tower to jump from. But most of it was trampolines - on the floors, on the walls, trampoline basketball courts, trampolines under the foam pit, trampolines everywhere! I've never seen so many adults jumping on trampolines before in one place. Correction - I'd never seen an adult jump on a trampoline period before Saturday, let alone dozens of them. But why not? After all, I intend to keep my youthful spirit without sacrificing my sagacious intellect as I grow. Besides, did you know you can burn 1000 calories in an hour of jumping?! That's a lot of chocolate animal crackers.

With Age Comes.....
Feeling a bit nostalgic lately....watching Sissie in my excersaucer brings back memories. Those were the days.....sleep whenever and wherever I want, little to no parental interference in what I choose or choose not to do, and it was ok that I didn't reveal to them my true intellectual capabilities because hey, it would have freaked everyone out. Now it's always "do this, do that," "why don't you talk MLS? Answer me" No I will not. My numerical age has nothing to do with your ability to comprehend my complex thesis and treatise on life. To put it a bit more bluntly, just because I've gotten older doesn't mean my parental units have gotten smarter.....I shall save my voice for those of a higher caliber of intelligence - you, my faithful students in this school of life.

Hong-Kong Hustle
Completed my first 5K race today! I would like to thank all the little people (pictured above) and all the big people (not pictured because Mommy said she and Daddy looked too gross afterwards to post a picture of them). I couldn't have done it without Mommy. She just gave me that extra push I needed. Every time I wanted to stop, she never gave up on me. In fact, she refused to leave me behind and insisted I stay in front of her the whole time. You were supposed to dress as a superhero, so I dressed as Hong Kong Phooey. But I kept having to tell everyone who I was. Come on people! Am I the only one who's familiar with classic 1970s Hanna-Barbera cartoon cinema. Geez. I have to educate everyone. What's happened to the youth of today?

Picture Crazy!
Mama got a new phone and she's going picture crazy! It takes awesome pictures of me....me smiling, me swinging, me being my natural awesome self. She took some of brother and sissie too, but who wants to see those? This is my time to shine! Go ME! Yay MLS! (Can you tell I'm in need of a self-talk pick-me-up?) I also got to "facetime" with Nanna and Poppy. I can see them anytime I want now! It's so sweet! I'm exhausted from my big day in the spotlight. Forgive me, but I must retire now. (To bed, not from my blog....)

Building Babe
With all the hype about getting more girls into engineering and all that jazz, I thought I'd help Sissie get a jumpstart on her career. Today I held an informal seminar on proper block building procedure, followed by a milk break. Unfortunately, the milk break seemed to be more popular than the topic at hand. Oh well. Maybe when she's 8 months old and more mature...

Developing "iTWINity"
If MLS thinks he's the only one whose exhausted from having a new sister, he can think again! I myself am quite enervated. It's tough to have everyone think I'm a twin. No sah! I am my own person, and I came into this world all alone. But I just can't say that to the cute old lady that stops to admire my "twin sister" and I, or the little boy who wants to know "How can that lady have TWO little babies?" And perhaps I did want to tell off the woman whispering about my Mommy being "irresponsible", but I just don't have it in me. (We have yet to figure out what she thought was "irresponsible"....having three babies, or having three babies out and about....). I'm not bold and spunky like MLS. Speaking of which, I must leave now, because MLS is screaming something at me about how he's not a baby anymore, and it's a travesty to be referred to as such on his very own blog. But I mean, if the diaper fits......

Babies Are Delicious
I ate the hair from sissie's head,
I ate the foot off brother's leg,
I chewed upon her purple dress,
Left brother's shirt a sticky mess.
I cannot help it if I find
hair to be deliciously sublime.
So what if I deem brother's feet
quite a delectable treat?
But Mommy's cry rings loud (if untrue)
"Brother is friend, not food!"
Babies, babies everywhere,
I hear them in my sleep.
Babies, babies everywhere,
But not a one to eat!

Mary Poppins in the Park....Minus Mary Poppins
Once again, the joys of big brotherhood abound. Took the little ones to the park today (I let Mommy come too) for a stroll. Mommy couldn't get them to nap, so I showed her how to walk them to sleep. Sheesh! I have to do everything! I think they enjoyed it. It was a most splendiferous day. I also gave sissie some fashion advice - if the bow on your headband is bigger than your head, you might want to downsize. She didn't listen. Although at one point she did at least turn it into a stylish choker instead of a headband....
JD actually never did fall asleep though. He appears to be teething, so he's been rather cranky. Of course he's such a goody two-shoes that cranky for him equals crying twice a day instead of just once. I mean....yes Mama I do admire JD's restraint and calm, gentle spirit.....wish I could be juuuuuust like him......*rolling of eyes, crossing of fingers*

Big Brother Turbo-Drive
I thought taking care of one little brother was hard; looking after a brother AND a sister is near impossible! One of them is always needing something - "MLS, how do you spell 'antidisestablishmentarianism'?" "MLS, which headband says, "I'm a retro-chic hipster who gets what she wants?" I can't even think straight after the day I've had keeping up with these two. I'm going to bed. Now that it's past midnight...sheesh!

Introducing....
Here's the big secret! JD and I have a new baby sister! She's 7 months old, but very small for her age. We don't know how long we'll get to have her, but she is AWESOME! I'd love to post a picture that wasn't taken in the dark, but Mommy said I'm not allowed to post head-shots of her online, so this is the best I can give ya. Mommy was shocked today when I, a man that has so far shunned spoken word, referred to her as Sissie out loud. And why not? I know we may not have her long, but she's still my sister for now. She is very cuddly and playful. Much for fun to play with than JD (no offense dude!), because she interacts a lot more than he does. And when she smiles at me....oh that smile....I'm a sucker for that smile. I'd entertain her all day for just one of those smiles. I guess that's what they mean when they say there's nothing more dangerous than a woman's smile. But I don't care. Love her.

Secrets
I have a secret.........it's big. It's a very important secret. I can tell you my secret later this week, but you have to promise to faithfully pray for the object of my secret, if I tell you what it is ok? Promise? Hmmmm....I'll have to evaluate your honesty. Some of you are kind of shady. And you, yeah you in the boxer shorts, you've got shifty eyes. I'll have to get back to you on this whole secret-sharing business later....
