About Me

My photo
Hi! I'm MLS and this is my blog. Grown-ups get to do everything cool while expecting us babies to lay around and drool. Babies unite! Join me in a revolution in which babies are heard! We have much to say if anyone bothered to listen. This is my way of getting my thoughts out there and maybe, just maybe, giving insight into the secret thoughts of babies everywhere!

"To Crawl, or Not to Crawl...That is the Question"

"They see me rollin'...they hatin'...patrollin', they tryin' to catch my diaper dirty. Tryin' to catch my diaper dirty, tryin' to catch my diaper dirty.  Tryin' to catch my diaper, tryin' to catch my diaper dirty."
(For those of you who do not know the song I based this one off of, no loss there.)
Anyway, I've been thinking a lot lately about which to do first - crawl or walk.  While crawling provides an extra milestone in my life (thus making mommy very happy to have something else to document, video, and alert the presses about), walking allows for greater mobility sooner, and lets me avoid those painful palm and knee calluses, not to mention carpet burn.  What to do?  Think of mommy and daddy and choose to crawl, shielding them a little more from the reality that I'm growing swiftly?  Or do what I would prefer to do....cut to the chase and walk.  Put the wants of others first, or think of myself?  Ya know, my life really is complicated.  I know!  I'll refuse to crawl or walk period right now (at least when they're around), and whenever the average kid usually starts walking, I'll let them see me walk for the first time.  Genius!  See, if I don't do anything, they'll start to fear I'm lagging developmentally, and they'll be so excited and relieved when I do walk, they'll completely forget I made them miss out on the joy of seeing me crawl!  This way, no carpet burn, no calluses, and everybody gets what they want....perhaps some more than others.....

  1. MLS, your mommy should not be letting you listen to that song. Oh, for shame!

    1. Never fear Auntie, I just heard her singing it, and she can't remember anything but the chorus.
